Inspired By… Anne Hathaway

Since her big break in The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway has been everywhere.

She has been in everything from Brokeback Mountain to The Dark Knight Rises to her latest Les Miserables.  Anne’s even been nominated for an Oscar for her stunning role in Rachel Getting Married and hosted the Academy Awards just a few years later in 2011.

But the actress, who recently just married longtime love Adam Shulman, has also become quite a fashion star.  Big time designers like Valentino (who designed her wedding dress) and Zac Posen love dressing her.  So, when trying to dress like Anne, think classic silhouettes, bright colors, and lots of accessories.

In this first look, Anne is at the airport, coming back from some press for Les Miserables.  To copy her effortless look, go with a white sweater, skinny jeans, and a tan or camel colored peacoat.  For shoes, go with black sneakers or boots, and accessorize with a brightly colored scarf and sunglasses.

This second look is of Anne doing press, yet again for her latest film.  Her cute strapless blue dress is perfect for a dinner date.  For this look, select a blue strapless dress, pair it with black Mary Jane heels and accessorize with a black clutch.

This final look is of Anne on the red carpet at the 2011 Academy Awards when she hosted them.  This was just one of several looks she sported that night.  For a fancy night look, choose a bright red dress, gold heels, and a gold flower necklace (to emulate  the flowers on her gown.)

Anne’s style is perfect and she hardly has made bad fashion mistakes.  I love that she’s not afraid of colors and knows what silhouettes are best for her.  If you love bright colors and accessories, Anne’s style is the one for you.
