Designer Spotlight: Vivienne Westwood
When she isn’t critiquing Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton’s fashion choices, Vivienne Westwood is still turning out funky, punky and fun designs. She first came to the fashion forefront when she made clothes for Malcolm McLaren’s boutique, who is most famously known from The Sex Pistols. Westwood fell in love with the “shock value” of punk music, and wanted her designs to possess those same shocking feelings. She then opened several shops in London in the 1970s, soon expanding her name and image worldwide. Today, Westwood continues to design for her own label. She’s a truly unconventional legend in the fashion world.
