Mary Kate and Ashley’s Bik Bok Collaboration

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have come a long way since their days of playing the adorable Michelle Tanner. At age 27 the Olsen twins have made a name for themselves in the fashion world. Their fashion achievements include launching their own couture line called The Row and their involvement with the clothing site Style Mint just to name a few. Their most recent achievement is their collaboration with the Norwegian retailer Bik Bok.

Bik Bok is a retailer that strives to give the fashion forward girls of Norway a place to find styles that are up to date with the latest fashion trends and looks. Bik Bok started as a line of jeans for young girls in 1973, and as its popularity grew Bik Bok created an entire collection and in 1978 opened their first shop in Oslo, Norway. Bik Bok has survived all of these years because it has changed its style according to the desires of its costumers. Bik Bok doesn’t only just offer their own collection, but also carries brands like Never Denim, Westhill Redbird, the accessory range Sassymanii and now their collaboration line with Mary Kate and Ashley.

The collection seems to be influenced by the girls’ personal style as well as their own high-end collection The Row.  When designing the line the Olsen twins had the ‘Scandinavian It Girl’ in mind, choosing looks and styles that they thought had the looks of high end designers, for prices that the costumers of Bik Bok would be able to afford. The most expensive item in the collection is a leather jacket made of black lamb, which goes for 500 Euros or 670 dollars, only 200 copies of this jacket were made.  The rest of the collection is priced in a range that the fashion forward costumers of Bik Bok can afford. Here is a look at some of the kind of items that are part of this collection.

The overall look of the collection is edgy and chic. The only downside for most people is that Bik Bok doesn’t ship to the US, so if you are truly interested in something that is part of this collection you are going to have to think outside of the box to get your hands on it.
