Trend Alert: Eye Catching Outerwear
The weather is just turning cold for most of us, and the days are getting shorter so it is the perfect time to pull out all of your winter duds and start thinking about what purchases you need to get. The last couple of years have been all about the military and leather jackets. This year though the trend is going to be eye catching outerwear. This means you have a chance to show off your style, choosing jackets and coats that will stand out.
Eye catching can be anything from bold furs to oversized sweaters and parkas. It is a chance to have fun with fashion, but you must be careful since you are wearing something that is going to draw attention you want to make sure that the outfit you are wearing underneath isn’t going to compete for attention. You want eye catching, not overwhelming. Here are some examples of looks you could go for.
Fur is constantly in and out of style, but this year you can really experiment with furs in ways that maybe in the past you wouldn’t have . You can go for the overly fluffy look like in the two above, or for something more subtle. If you are even more adventurous, and want something truly eye catching you can go for a colored fur.
Another option for this fall is a full length jacket like this trench. You can wear this look as a way to show off your love for bright colors, and patterns.
Even Versace was on this outerwear bandwagon when they were designing their collection for this fall. These two pieces show off how to wear vibrant solids, or eye catching patterns.
This baggy overcoat showed during London’s fashion week is a great example of zanier side of the eye catching trend. Paired with a fish, this coat takes the cake for eye catching display and just goes to show that with this trend you can really do some creative things.
