Shop for a Cause: Fashion Charities

If you could help someone, why wouldn’t you? These fashion-based charities make it easy to shop as well as give to those in need.

  1. Clothe Your Neighbor as Yourself

This organization uses 100% of your purchase to help those in need. A section on the product information page describes how your contribution will be used, so you can see your impact. They even make sure the manufacturing process doesn’t harm others in the mission to help those in poverty.

  1. Housing Works –Fashion For Action

In an effort to combat homelessness and heal those affected by HIV/AIDS, this organization has teamed up with over 100 of fashion’s biggest names, including Tom Ford, Dior, and Chanel. They celebrated their tenth anniversary November 20, 2013 of continued efforts.

  1. Sevenly

This company, founded in 2011, features a different charity every week. For a full seven days, it sells clothing, posters, and accessories exclusively designed for the charity, as well as past designs. For every purchase made, seven dollars goes directly to the week’s charity.

4. Out of Print

This organization sells tees and accessories featuring classic, usually out-of-print books. Their partnership with Books for Africa provides one book donation to a community in need for each product sold. See your favorite celebs rocking their favorite tee and pick out your own.

5. Warby Parker

For every pair of glasses frames or sunglasses sold, this company gives a pair to someone in need. With their Home Try-On, you can pick five frames you like and decide which one you want to purchase.
