Inspired By…Emmy Rossum
Emmy Rossum has come a long way since her starring role in The Phantom of the Opera.
The 28-year-old actress got her start in the industry when at the age of seven, she was asked to join the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus. Her interest in acting soon followed, and Emmy made her acting debut in 1997 on an episode of Law and Order. Her big break came in 2004, when she appeared in both The Day After Tomorrow and in the highly sought after lead role of the film version of The Phantom of the Opera. Her role in the latter led to a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globes, for which she has so far been the youngest actress to be nominated for the award (she was 18). Since then, Emmy has appeared in various movies, but didn’t find her footing again until she was hired to play Fiona Gallagher on TV show Shameless in 2009. Aside from acting, Emmy also sings and has released several well received albums.
In addition to being an actress and singer, Emmy is also admired for her simple and sweet style. The actress can often be seen sporting high neck dresses and dark colors on the red carpet, but in her casual looks, Emmy is more likely to go for a sweeter style consisting of lots of pieces and jewelry. She also seems to like floral print, and can be seen wearing it both on and off the red carpet. So, if you’re looking to Emmy for style inspiration, remember floral print, dark colors, lots of jewelry, and always have a nice high neck dress on hand.
In this first look, Emmy is at the Yigar Azrouel show at New York Fashion Week 2014. For a ‘dressier’ casual outfit, select a nice gray tank top, black jeans, and black flats.
This second look is of Emmy on the red carpet at a special screening and cast panel for her show Shameless in June 2013. Look to this quaint and floral outfit for a cute dinner date. Go with a colorful floral skater dress with belt, simple heels in a shade similar to the main color of your floral dress (here I’ve gone with turquoise and a pastel turquoise), and accessorize with fun circle earrings.
In this third look, Emmy is at the premiere of her movie Beautiful Creatures in 2013. Take Emmy’s love of high neck dresses and make it your own for a night on the town outfit. Choose a high neck dress in a dark color (here I’ve selected black), black strappy heels, and accessorize with colorful dangly earrings and a black clutch.
Emmy has a style that can be easily adapted for almost anyone. Her style mostly focuses on being simple and sweet in terms of design. Emmy loves a good high neck dress, loves to accessorize with plenty of jewelry, and likes dark colors and prints. If you’re looking for a simple and sweet style, with emphasis on accessories, look to Emmy Rossum for some style tips!
