Inspired By…Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad is definitely more than just a reality star beauty.

The 28-year-old designer first rose to fame in 2004 as a star on MTV’s Laguna Beach. She received her own spin-off in 2006, called The Hills, which followed the then-budding designer as she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and held positions at Teen Vogue and Kelly Cutrone’s PR Firm People’s Revolution. In 2009, Lauren launched her first clothing line, “LC Lauren Conrad,” and then in 2011, she launched her second, “Paper Crown.” Aside from reality TV and designing clothes, Lauren also is an author, having released a very popular YA series the L.A. Candy and its spin-off The Fame Games series. More recently, Lauren has opened an online store called The Little Market, which sells pieces made by various women from different cultures around the world, and in her person life, she recently married boyfriend William Tell in September 2014.

As a fashion designer, Lauren has become well-known for her easy-going and accessible style. In her own words, the designer would describe her style as “feminine, classic, and California Girl.” Lauren can often be seen wearing soft colors, feminine silhouettes, and classic styles. Think cozy sweaters, dark wash jeans, and simple boots or flats for casual wear. For dinner or night wear, think feminine dresses, blazers, and simple heels.

This first look features Lauren arriving at LAX in October 2013. Her casual, but cute look here is perfect for the fall. Select a loose beige sweater, bright or deep blue slim fit jeans, and beige Chelsea boots.

In this second look, Lauren is showing off her signature style in a photo accompanying an article on her website concerning her personal style. Take cues from this feminine, but classic outfit for a dinner look. Go with a white pleated blouse, a black skater skirt, a soft or baby blue blazer, and Mary Jane heels.

This final look is of Lauren in September 2013 at a Downey event in NYC. For a feminine and flirty night outfit, choose a black bodycon dress with mesh polka-dotted insert, black heels with a bow, and accessorize with a simple gold necklace and gold rings.

Lauren’s style is definitely one of the easiest to copy, and that’s easy to do with her affordable line at Kohl’s. Soft colors, feminine silhouettes, and simple shoes are always on her lists of what to wear. When trying to dress like Lauren, just remember what she considers as her signature style, “feminine, classic, and California Girl.”
