Inspired By… Pitch Perfect
Pitch Perfect was definitely 2012’s best-selling musical comedy, and The Bellas are back for more in the hit sequel which debuted last Friday.
The first movie follows college freshman Beca who, at first, refuses to get involved at Barden University, but after her father’s urging, she agrees to visit the student organizations’ open house where she finds herself signing up for an all-girls singing group, The Bellas. Armed with her knowledge of DJ techniques, Beca pulls the group out of its dull harmonic rut and helps the team defeat their male rivals in the finals of an important singing contest.
Beca (Anna Kendrick) is the quintessential indie girl with her no frill attitude and her casual and comfortable wardrobe of classic jeans, tanks, and layered flannel shirts. To get Beca’s look, pair dark washed skinny jeans with a lace camisole and a denim shirt, and accessorize with some nude ballet flats and signature headphones.
As The Bellas team captain, Aubrey (Anna Camp) has a perfectionist mentality which shines through her polished fashion choices. Our Aubrey-inspired get-up is a great choice for summer with a sleeveless ruffled blouse, a flared skirt, a yellow cardigan, and pointed flats.
The loveable Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) will give you lots of laughs as well as fashion inspiration! Her outfits are as fun and bright as her personality, so make sure to incorporate funky patterns and bold colors. This outfit is great for running errands in and is simple to make; just pick out simple black leggings and a fun T shirt, and accessorize it with a fitted leather jacket and colored sneakers.
Chloe (Brittany Snow) may be Aubrey’s bubbly side-kick, but she stands alone with her suburb style! Our Chloe-based look is a chic choice for a date! Put on a long sleeve blouse and floral print skirt, then add some tights, boots, and gold hoop earrings.
The Bellas know their fashion, and are definitely great style role models. For more fashion inspiration from these singing divas, check out Pitch Perfect 2!
