Trend Alert: Striped Tuxedo Pants

Tuxedos are the pinnacle of fancy dress. Men only pull out the tux when they are going to a Black Tie affair, or something just as dressy. In the fashion world things are constantly shifting, and one of the most recent shifts has included tuxedo pants. These classic black striped pants are no longer just for the men, and they are not just for fancy dress anymore. Now us ladies can have our turn with this stylish striped pants. If you aren’t quite sure how to rock this new style, here are a few examples of how you can wear it.

One great way to wear this style is by getting nude, or beige colored pants with a dark stripe. This look is good for your first attempt at wearing the tuxedo stripe pants. If you are nervous about getting this style right you can pair these light colored pants with a dark colored solid top, or if you are more adventurous you can pair your pants with something like the shirt in the picture above. Stripes and stripes is a brave fashion move that not everyone can pull off.

If you are looking for something a little more subtle you can wear a pair of pants more like these Ralph Lauren tuxedo leggings. The black on black look is a classic style, and easier to match to shirts you already own. Getting leggings like this is great if you are looking for a comfortable, but somewhat dressy look.

Another way to rock this trend is with denim. These jeans from Old Navy are a perfect example of how you can have both the classic tuxedo stripe and the casual dressed down look of denim. This might be the easiest way to wear this style, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love denim?
